Carrot Cake Martini

The inspiration for this cocktail came after seeing the Travel Channel air an episode of the world's coolest bars. At Noir Bar in the Luxor, mixologist, Ken Hall, serves up his version and shared the basic ingredients.

I dumbed them down a bit to more readily available liqueurs and came up with this combination...
  • 2 oz Spiced Rum
  • 1 oz Amaretto
  • 2 oz Carrot Juice
  • 1/2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • Cream Cheese Frosting (see below)
Chill an up glass with crushed ice and water. Rim the glass with the frosting. Shake the ingredients with ice in a shaker until it sweats. Pour carefully into the glass and garnish with a sprinkling of fresh nutmeg.
I have to admit, it does taste very much like a slice of carrot cake and the frosted rim is a very nice touch.

Cream Cheese Frosting
  • Cream Cheese
  • Powdered Sugar
Combine powdered sugar into the cream cheese until the right consistency is achieved. The ratio is roughly one to one.
