Samurai Martini

In this case, I was simply staring at my booze collection and trying to imagine something fruity and unique. Lychee stood out and soon I saw the bottle of Pama and thought, "I bet they'd go great together."

Sure enough, they're both very light fruits with subtle flavors, but the lychee is overpowering on the nose. I decided to balance it out with another light fruit flavor and added pear vodka. Then the cranberry cuts the sweetness a bit and adds some color. Perfect. Really. The result is something that's very sweet and fruity, but doesn't taste like any fruit I've ever had. Truly something unique.

Since the aroma is primarily lychee and therefore synonymous with something Asian, I've dubbed it the Samurai.
  • 2 oz Soho Lychee Liqueur
  • 2 oz Pama Pomegranate Liqueur
  • 2 oz Pear Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Cranberry Juice
  • Maraschino Cherry with Stem
Chill an up glass with crushed ice and water. Shake the ingredients with ice in a shaker until it sweats. Strain into the glass and garnish by dropping in the cherry.
